Why most leaders pick one
Most leaders are, by temperament, either externalists or internalists. Externalists scan markets, customers, competitors. Internalists scan themselves, their teams, their meaning. Each thinks the other is missing the point.
The integral leader holds both, alternating like breath. Neither gaze is a hobby.
The practice
Block two hours a week for each. Outward in the morning when the market is loud. Inward at the end of the day when the body has data to give you.
